Memorial Day May 25, 2026

Memory Eternal to those whose last takeoff had no landing — and to the spouses, children, and parents who carry the cost they paid. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

CysecIn TRAIN.

The Veterans Transition Program spins off into a 501(c)(3) (in formation) dedicated to the cyber workforce development of the Special Operations community — and the families of the fallen.

An Announcement · Tampa, Florida

// The Announcement

Three changes to the Veterans Transition Program.

All three in service of one mission — developing the United States cyber workforce, for the SOF community and the families of the fallen.

01
// Refocus

The VTP is now SOF².

SOF²Security Operational Focus on Special Operations Forces — is the program’s positioning going forward.

The intended population is the SOF community across USSOCOM components — USASOC, NSW, AFSOC, MARSOC — the 19th and 20th Special Forces Groups and the 123rd and 125th Special Tactics Squadrons of the National Guard, and the wider federal tactical workforce inventoried by GAO.

SOF² is the recognition that SOF-to-cyber is a continuity of craft, not a career change.

02
// Expansion

Gold Star Families are in the program.

Beginning summer 2026, surviving spouses, children, and dependents of fallen Special Operations service members are eligible for the same training, mentorship, and placement pipeline as transitioning operators.

Eligibility is structured around the existing VA program architecture — Chapter 35 DEA, Fry Scholarship, and the relevant survivor-benefit pathways — and is operational once 501(c)(3) determination and FDOE Apprenticeship registration are received.

Their watch ended. Ours continues.

03
// Structure

The VTP becomes CysecIn TRAIN Inc.

The Veterans Transition Program is being spun off into CysecIn TRAIN Inc. — a Florida Not-for-Profit Corporation currently being established as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

The TRAIN pillar becomes the nonprofit. SECURE and EDUCATE remain under CysecIn LLC. Operators and Gold Star Families deserve an institution built for them.

The two entities operate at arm’s length with independent governance.

// The Offer

An apprenticeship.
Not a bootcamp. Not a debt.

Cybersecurity bootcamps charge $10,000 to $20,000 up front, require months of full-time attendance, and end with a paper certificate. SOF² is the opposite at every step.

// 01

Zero experience.

No prior cyber experience required. We assume the operational discipline; we teach the cyber.

// 02

No degree.

No bachelor’s required. No master’s. A high-school equivalent is the academic floor.

// 03

No certification required to start.

We sponsor a free industry credential (ISC2 CC or Fortinet Fundamentals) at intake. You walk in with nothing; you walk out federally credentialed.

// 04

Try cyber. Keep your job.

Entry is 10 hours per week. Compatible with SkillBridge, active employment, or transition. You don’t have to bet the farm to find out if this fits.

// 05

Eat what you kill.

Performance bonus stacks on top of the W-2 base wage. When you help close a contract, a documented share of the margin is paid to you as a W-2 performance bonus.

// 06

Senior · contractor · owner.

Three exit paths after Journeyworker. Hired into the CysecIn SECURE pillar as a Senior Risk Advisor, placed at a defense or commercial employer, or set up as an independent operator running your own book. Your choice.

// 07

Leave at your will.

No tuition clawback. No multi-year contract lock-in. No non-compete that follows you. If the program isn’t fitting, you walk; we keep building.

// 08

We pay you. You don’t pay us.

W-2 from Day 1. Tax-withheld. Employer-contributed Social Security and Medicare. Not a stipend. Not a 1099. Not unpaid.

// 09

40%–60% commission on top.

Track A (Sales): 40% of margin on contracts closed. Track B (Technical): 20% of margin on remediation executed. Full-Cycle Mastery: 60% on end-to-end sell-and-remediate. Paid as W-2 performance bonus.

// 10

Graduate with a $10K certification.

SANS FOR578 + GIAC GCTI — the industry-standard Cyber Threat Intelligence credential. Approximately $9,000 retail. Fully sponsored at Level 4 of the Phased Learning Crucible. Yours to keep on graduation.

// The Program

A DOL-track Registered Apprenticeship.
Federally credentialed.

Built on the apprenticeship framework that the construction trades, manufacturing, and the maritime trades have used for a century — adapted to cybersecurity. W-2 from Day 1. Wage scales with documented competency. Graduates carry a portable, federally registered Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship for the rest of their careers.

// Registration
RAPIDS 2050CB · O*NET 15-1212.00

DOL-track Registered Apprenticeship under the Cybersecurity Support Technician O*NET-SOC code. State filing in progress with the Florida Department of Education Office of Apprenticeship · ATR Region 4.

// Structure
2,000 hrs OJL · 144 hrs RTI · 24–36 months

Hybrid (competency-based with time-based safeguards) under 29 CFR §29.5. EEO compliance per 29 CFR Part 30. Schedule scales from 10 hours per week at entry to 40 hours per week at Journeyworker.

// Pay Posture
W-2 from Day 1 · tax-withheld · employer-contributed

Not a stipend. Not a 1099. Not unpaid. Full W-2 wage with employer-paid Social Security and Medicare contributions at every tier. Wage advances at competency-documented milestones, not seat-time.

// GI Bill & SkillBridge
VA SAA approval to follow · DoD SkillBridge MOU planned

Following DOL state registration, application proceeds to the Florida Department of Veterans’ Affairs State Approving Agency for GI Bill eligibility (Chapter 33, Chapter 31, Chapter 35, Fry). SkillBridge MOU application planned for active-duty operators in the last 180 days of service.

// The Phased Learning Crucible — four levels, each reviewable

L1 · ≈80 hr
Credential
LinkedIn Learning foundational pathway + free industry credential (ISC2 CC or Fortinet Fundamentals). The doorway — no prior IT or cyber experience required.
L2 · ≈400 hr
Lab
Hack The Box defensive SOC investigations — 12 Defensive Sherlocks, analyst-grade investigative work product under Senior Architect supervision.
L3 · ≈360 hr
Capstone
Independent MITRE ATT&CK-mapped adversary-emulation engagement on a real public attack surface. Production-grade Threat Intelligence Briefing, defended without AI assistance.
L4 · ≈160 hr
Certification
SANS FOR578 + GIAC GCTI sponsored and earned. The industry-standard CTI credential primes and federal contractors actually recognize. Approximately $9,000 retail. Fully funded.

// The Wage Posture

Wage is competency-gated, not time-gated. Each tier opens when a documented milestone is met — dossier production, contracts closed, technical mastery demonstrated.

// Probation Tier
$14/hr × 10 hr/wk
Florida-minimum-wage-compliant baseline. First 90 days. Hours grow as you grow.
// Journeyworker Target
$40/hr × 40 hr/wk
Reached on documented mastery of the Work Process Schedule and the Level 4 Crucible. The graduation tier.

Performance bonus of 40%–60% margin on contracts closed sits on top of the base wage at every tier, paid as W-2 performance bonus. The full wage and milestone schedule is set out in CysecIn’s Standards of Apprenticeship.

// The Structure

Two entities, one mission.
Arm’s-length governance.

Spinning the apprenticeship out into a standalone nonprofit serves three purposes: it unlocks the philanthropic and federal-grant funding ecosystem reserved for 501(c)(3) organizations, it satisfies the IRS prohibition on private inurement, and it lets CysecIn TRAIN engage SOF foundations and federal partners on equal institutional footing.

// For-Profit Parent

CysecIn LLC.

The operating commercial firm. SECURE and EDUCATE pillars remain here. B2B cybersecurity engagements, proprietary tooling (Aegis Optimizer, Aegis Go), federal contracting posture.

// How to Engage

Four open vectors.
The conversation is open.

CysecIn TRAIN Inc. is in establishment. The most useful thing the SOF community, the defense industry, the philanthropic ecosystem, and transitioning operators can do today is make themselves known.
